MLM Lies - One Way To Spot Dishonest Network Marketing Income Claims

Do People Lie About Their Online Incomes?

Obviously some do, some don't, and many don't mention how much money they make.

The internet network marketing industry abound with dudes making fat income claims. You probably roll your eyes mostly, like I do... but sometimes you wonder if this guy is a lot smarter than you and can show you how to crack the internet piggy bank fast.

First of all - most people intuitively distrust boastfulness in marketing so hoping to attract people by boasting is of dubious value as an advertising tactic.

I'm not making this up. Claude C. Hopkins mentions this more than once in Scientific Advertising.

Anybody who is making serious money online or in network marketing has skills and experiences that make this possible. No opportunity is so superior to others that its easy to get rich by pushing buttons.

Making money promoting anything online is a tricky process much like direct mail. It takes time and testing to develop promotional methods that are consistently profitable. Those who do the work to be successful sometimes have staggering incomes, and a smaller number make a few thousand dollars a month - nothing to sneeze at.

Just because the reality of making money isn't as glamorous as just signing up and watching the money roll in with minimal work does not mean you cannot replace a professional level income in a year or less, because you can and people are doing it all the time.

Some of the recruiters out there are liars though. A couple of quick check-up procedures can give you a good idea of whether or not the guy might be on the level. Just because somebody passes these two litmus tests doesn't mean he isn't lying to you about his income.

Litmus Test Number 1: Marketing Literacy

If somebody claims they have been in the business for 3 months, made 100 grand and aren't able to have a real nitty-gritty discussion about advertising or recommend several books, and talk about what those books are about, chances are they are fibbing and haven't made much money, if any and are moreover pretty ignorant about marketing.

Lots of folks have a pretty good grip on marketing but will still make big income claims to seduce a prospect... and thats called G.U.M.P. hunting, which is another topic.

Litmus Test Number 2: Website Traffic Statistics

If you really want to know if some "instant millionaire" type is really getting the kind of traffic and sales he claims to be getting...

Here's what you can do - Go to Alexa.com and run a check on the traffic volume of the URL the guy is promoting. If he's promoting an affiliate site with a user extension it means he's too cheap or green to get his own Dot Com for ten bucks a year and you should assume he's a liar... I would.

The stats at Alexa won't tell you everything but they will give you an idea of how long a site has been getting traffic and what the traffic volume is.

BTW - Alexa ratings can be manipulated by maybe promoting your site in Autosurfs or buying popunder traffic, etc.

Alexa is kind of like the Nielsen ratings for TV... traffic is analyzed based on a sampling of internet users.

This IS true though - it gives a pretty good idea of whether the site is getting significant amounts of traffic.

Cool Idea: The "Ask James" Podcast Show!

Ok, I knew it was only a matter of time before
some "smart marketer" finally figured this out.

Trust me when I say:

"What this guy (James Grandstaff) is doing will
have many successful marketers scrambling to
implement his brilliant idea into their current
marketing mix."

Before I tell you exactly what he's doing...

Let's pretend for a minute that you're new to
the world of trying to make money online.

You probably belong to several other "Lists."
If the list owner is doing their job, they are
providing you with a balanced dose of useful
content along with offers for products that
will help you on your quest for financial
freedom.

But here lies the problem...

Take a minute right now and think about your
"mindset" as you're going through your emails.

You have one "clickin' happy finger" on the
delete button and your eyes are scanning for
a well crafted subject line that catches your
attention. Maybe you're looking for an email
from your favorite guru or a newsletter that
you subscribe to. It doesn't really matter.

What matters is...

Going through your email isn't as much fun as
when you first got online, is it?

Do you remember when you got your first email?

If you're anything like me, you were ecstatic.
And I bet you told all your friends about it
-- "That's Right, Got My First Email Today."

Well, that was a long time ago. The problem
now is we're hit with 1,000 spam emails per
day and checking email just isn't as fun or
effective anymore.

The biggest reason it's not as effective is
due to our minds being closed to accepting
new and helpful information.

Just the other day I received an email from
a subscriber who said the site I sent them
to wasn't really free (there was an offer
presented upon registration.)

I politely responded...

"Why don't you skip the offer, since it didn't
interest you, and go inside the member's area
and listen to the free audio interviews from
the featured experts?"

I truly believe this subscriber responded
that way because she had her guard up. Had
the information been presented in a different
format she may have been more accepting of
the message and therefore benefited from
it.

Not to worry--it's all good, because...

James Grandstaff has come up with a solution.

His new podcast called "The Ask James Podcast"
enables you to get your questions answered
when the time is right for you; when your
"head is right" so to speak :-)

One of the reasons James came up with idea is
because of all the "clutter" and "noise" that
keeps filling our inboxes and distracting us.

His podcast solves that problem by providing
answers to his listeners questions when they're
away from the noisy inbox. And I think it's a
brilliant idea.

But there's more to it...

James won't be the only who answers the
questions of his listeners. On occasion,
he will be inviting big name famous marketers
to help answer some questions during a show.

So if you have a question about marketing
or making money online, or list building,
or whatever. You could potentially have a
guru like Mark Joyner or Mike Filsaime answer
your question. I know for a fact Mark Joyner
charges $2,000 per hour for phone consultation.
Imagine if he answered your single biggest
question regarding creating wealth online
--for free!

I think you get the idea :-)

The next step is to check it out for yourself.

When you get to the site:

1) Register for free

2) Submit your question to James

3) Claim your free gift valued at $37

4) Listen and enjoy the show!

Go here:
http://www.AskJamesPodcast.com/ask/?id=1190

To Your Success!

james

P.S. One thing I should make clear is that just
because you submit your question to James doesn't
mean that it WILL be answered during an episode.

Either way, you're still going to learn a lot
from the questions that your fellow listeners
ask.

Why Home Business Pre-Launches Are Dangerous

Well, first off, how many pre-launches have you seen that never even make it to the launch date? I tracked a few for this article and out of the 5 I watched, only 1 got off of the ground...for 1 week and then it disappeared. The rest were shut down before leaving the launching pad. Not only Houston has the problem with this.

Do not get tied up into these if you have no idea who is pre-launching these in the first place. If it is something that you are already established with and this is another extension of that business, than it should not be a problem. I just see so many of these putrid sites pulling in people and their money and then never get off of the ground.

Research the program. I watched the pre-pre launch of one site, then the pre-launch, and then the crash and burn part that you see in educational videos. These are dangerous and should not be messed with. If you are looking for a home based biz or are trying to enhance your own, do so with established services and businesses.

Internet marketing is truly an enigma. It can be a wonderful and prosperous experience, but it can also be Pandora's box. You have to see above these pre-launch schemes and scams. Yes, they look and sound good, but why not keep focused on what has been around for awhile. The tried and true stay the tried and true. They have it right and stick around for years because they do things the right way.

Well, I have to get my binoculars to see the pre-pre-pre-pre launch of some new, exciting, and dangerous Internet home based business that will, "Revolutionize the Internet". Wow! Where do they come up with this stuff? Look, shoot for the moon or anywhere in the galaxy you want to go. Just do not ride one of their home online business pre-launch rockets.

10, uh oh...9, 8, err... 7 ,6 ,5, blast o...no, no, not yet... 4, err... 3, 2, err...hmmm...is this thing on?

Success thrives upon failure's demise.

Web Tip 5- Using Other Peoples Content To Increase Traffic

It’s time for your next tip. I hope you found the last
one helpful. In the last tip we talked about getting traffic by using
content. Now let's talk about how you can do it without hunting down or creating the content yourself. One way to generate traffic with content on your site without
buying or writing it yourself, is to have a page where your visitors can submit their own articles. This is a great way to keep a steady flow of fresh content being added to your sitewithout much extra work on your part. The search engines love fresh content that is updated regularly.
That's it for today's tip. See you soon with your next tip.

Web Traffic Tip 4-GettingTraffic To Small Sales Page Sites

I hope you are learning a lot from our little tips.Today let's talk about getting traffic to small sales page sites. If you are trying to drive traffic to a simple 1 or 2 page sales site then chances are you may not get much traffic from the search engines because of the lack of content. One way around this is to build a content site by using articles on the same topic as the product you are selling.
You can get the articles from directories or write some of your own that will help get traffic from the search engines and then link to your sales site from the content site. This will help you get traffic from the search engines and redirect it to your sales page.

Web Traffic Tip 3- Using One Way Links To Drive Traffic

In the last tip we talked about reciprocal linking. Now let's talk about one way links.
They are even better than reciprocal linking because you don't have to give a link back to the other site. The easiest way to find sites to link to yours is to do a search and type in "your topic", "add URL" or "add your site" and then you should get some sites that you can add your link to.
For example if your site is on dogs then your search would look something like this; dogs + "add URL"

Check to make sure that the site has a fair amount of traffic coming in and that it has good page rank. You don't want to submit your site to what is considered a link farm because it won't yeild a good response.

Web Traffic Tip 2-Reciprocal Linking To Get Better Search Engine Rankings

It’s time for your next tip. I hope you found the last one helpful. Reciprocal linking is a great way to get traffic and better search engine rankings. Reciprocal linking is where you find another site that has been built around a similar topic as yours and you contact the site owner or webmaster and ask them if they would like to put a link to your site in exchange for a link to theirs.

There are also link exchange services and directories that will help you find similar websites that are willing to exchange links with you. Just do a search for "link exchange" and you will find several. Not only can this help your ranking in the search engines it will also give your site more exposure from people that visit the other website that you are linked to.

Web Traffic Tip 1- Using Article Marketing To Build Website Traffic

Welcome to the first Web Traffic Tip.
Each day or 2 I will post a quick tip that will help you learn exactly how you can successfully generate web traffic.
First tip:

One of the easiest ways to build up traffic to your website is by marketing with articles. To do this you simply write an article that is on the same topic as your website or product. Make sure that it contains useful information that people will want to read. After your article is complete submit it to article directories with a link back to your website in the resource box. After your article is submitted people who are looking for information on your topic will read it, then visit your website and publishers that want content for their newsletter or website will use it and then even more people will read it and visit your website.

Tips On Building Your List When Starting A Home Base Business Part 2

2. The Auto-Responder
You must have an auto-responder to generate the HTML code for the opt-in form and redirect the subscriber or prospect to the think you page and store their name and email address in list. The auto-responder is also use to verify the email address of the subscriber via of an email and redirect the them to the to the "thank you page" and the "free offer" down load page. There are many auto-responders on the market. I use Aweber and that works well for me. If you are serious about being successful in an online home based business, you must follow up with your prospects to provide solutions for their problems.

3. The Thank You Page

After your subscribers gives you their information, a "think you page" is used to verify the subscribers name and email address. The "thank you" page requests that the subscribers to go to go to the email address that was provided by them to verify it. Some auto-responders have protection from "computer generate" spam that requires you to input encoded letters or numerals into a field on the "thank you" page to insure that the subscribers are humans.

4. The Down Load Page.
Provide a down load page for your "FREE" offer. The purpose of the down load page is not only to provide access to the FREE offer but prevent computer generated abuse of the down load area on the server by restricting the number of down loads from the page.

If you have your "squeeze page", auto-responder, thank you page and down load page in place, you are ready for an avalanche of profits from your website or blog.

Tips On Building Your List When Starting A Home Based Business

You have heard said that "the list is golden". "The money's in the List". When you have a list of targeted names and email addresses, you can make money starting a home based business. Starting a home based business without a list of prospective business partners and customers online is fighting a war that you can never win. Here are a few tips that can help the new internet marketer build the list. There are four components that you must use to build your list. You must have a "squeeze page", an auto-responder, a thank you page and a download page.

1. The "squeeze page" is a website page that has a compelling headline about meeting a need or providing a solution to a problem that your your audience is wrestling. There must be an emotional connect made with the reader of the headline that will compel them to read "the rest of the story".
The "rest of the story" is the list of bullet points that highlight the benefits that they will receive from your FREE offer to help solve their problem. Notice that the offer is FREE . FREE is one of the most pleasing words in the English language. The "squeeze page" is not a "sales page or a sales pitch but it must express in the most compelling way what's in this FREE offer that they can't possibly do without.

At the end of "the rest of the story" you have a "call to action" statement that tells your prospect what to do in an urgent manner. Such as: "Limited Quantities Left-Sign Up Now!". You must create an urgency or scarcity for them to grab the FREE offer now!. Stay around for Part 2 on how the Auto-Responder is utilized in building your list when starting a home based business.

How To Set Up A Successful Online Home Based Business

How To Set Up A Successful Online Home Based BusinessBy [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=James_B_Byrd]James B Byrd
The working definition of a home based business is any business that you work out of your home where you pay the cost to be called the boss. It is this lure of being your own boss, calling all the shots and making “insane riches” that have driven many people to pursue the idea of having an internet business. Today, you will find many types of online business opportunities. A few are direct selling, MLM (multi-level marketing) and affiliate marketing.

The great internet “gold rushes” for instant riches online can be hazardous to your financial health. Instead of finding a pot of gold, it is estimated that 95% drop out rates exists among these home based business owners. It has been reported that the highest percentage of those who drop out occurs within the first 3-6 months. This high drop out rates is said to be contributed to the high expectations of “instant wealth” with little or no effort. This mind set coupled with little or no experience in marketing and promoting an online home based business insures their demise. The sad fact about the whole thing is that “it’s not their fault”.
When setting up an online home based business, here are three tips to keep in mind:.

1. When you join or sign up with an online home based business opportunities, check to make sure there is a successful marketing and promotion program in place that you can utilize for making money in the business. This goes beyond weekly training calls, tapes, CDs and brochures that you may have to purchase by the thousands. You need a marketing and promotion system that will help you grow your online business.

2. Operate your business like a business and not a hobby. If you operate your business like a business, it will pay you like a business. If you operate your business like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby. Get a daily planner and write down specific goals that you want to accomplish each day base on the number of hours you plan to “work your business.” Plan your day the night before. If you have 6 tasks you want to do, write them down and prioritize your list using the numbers 1-6 to set the priorities.

3 Take a “gut check”. In other words, do you really have a burning desire to achieve your dream or financial goal. You must be willing to burn all your bridges and never look or even think about turning back. You must have a mind set to do whatever it takes to reach your dream.
If you have these three things, you will be able to set up a successful online home based business.

Network Marketing Success-How Long Shall I Stay With My Current MLM Company

People get involved in network marketing with high hopes of success and what that success is going to mean for them and their family. This is great! Although we may have different dreams and goals for what success in network marketing will give us we have similar reasons. This is usually a better quality of life.
You may get disillusioned when after a while things don’t seem to be working the way they have anticipated. Don’t worry this happens to all of us. This usually happens within the first 3 months. These feelings are normal but it is what you do from now that really matters.
If you are seriously considering whether you do want to remain with your current network marketing company or not you do need to consider a few things. Can the network marketing company deliver what I need if I am willing to give it 100%? Maybe you got in not fully understanding all the facts?

If you can honestly say that you have given it your all for at least 12 months and it's not working for you then you could consider whether you should look at doing something else. It would be a shame to give up after months and months or even years of work just before it starts to explode.

Another thing you need to consider is have you sponsored other people. Remember you have made a commitment to them when you signed them up. If you left how would it affect them? Network marketing is a people business. See how your downline feels. Maybe they have similar concerns as you. Whatever you do never try to talk them out of the business. Above all things they may see you as a looser. If they are doing fine encourage them to keep going. They could be able to help you if they are doing well. They may have found better ways of promoting the business.

If you can honestly say you have given it you all for 12 months, and you have made the decision to try something else, now is the time to investigate what else is out there. Look at various opportunities; educate yourself on what is needed to be successful. Find the network marketing business with the pension plan, system and support structure at suits you best.
Some people go with more than one network marketing company. This could be either good or bad. Remember a business will only work if you work it. If time is an issue sticks to one. It is best not to keep changing from one to another. Benefits from a network marketing business are not immediate they take a while. This is called delayed ratification. If you decided to change network marketing companies educate yourself and find the business that is best for you.

5 Tips For Getting Quality Traffic Using Traffic Exchanges

With the thousands of traffic exchanges on the Internet, why do only a few give you quality results? I don't know about you, but I was tired and disgusted with manual traffic exchanges because when I put my money out, I found myself just getting hits but no takers! In fact, I got hits in three ways. My websites(I think?), my pocket book and my precious time that I spent surfing.

Here are 5 tips to considered when selecting your manual traffic exchange to generate visits to your MLM, Network Marketing or blog websites.

1) Check out the monthly ranking of the traffic exchange and try to pick one that is in the top five. This will give you some idea of how well their business model is performing.

2) Does the traffic exchange have guaranteed second visits? Most visitors only click on a website 2 times on their initial visit.

3) How many URLs can you promote at a time? Some traffic exchanges have set limits on the number of URLs you can promote. Try and find one with unlimited URL promotion.

4) Does the traffic exchange have anti-cheating scripts ? Anti-cheating scripts keep "cheaters"
from stealing your credits.

5) How long has the traffic exchange been around? Does it have a track record for "time listed quality traffic?

Hopefully, when you select a traffic exchange you will keep some of these questions in mind and avoid taking negative hits financially and wasting you most precious commodity, your time!!

How Do You Make Money In MLM And Who Gets Rip Off?

Secrets Of MLM Online Success - How Do You Make Money In MLM And Who Gets Ripped Off?By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jim_Keayes]Jim Keayes

Now there's a great question!
I know lots of people who like to take the victim role that are totally convinced that anyone making big bucks is ripping the little guy off.
So let's put that one to bed…in MLM the little guy is a volunteer!
It's not that anyone is getting ripped off. It's the simple fact that in all businesses a small handful of high achievers make significantly more income than the average.

MLM is not a job where you're on a fixed salary and have to beg for a raise, while the President is entrenched at the top making the big income. In MLM everyone is the President of their own business and they can write their own income check…if they want to work for it.
You start in MLM the same place everyone else started and from then on it's up to you. In the typical compensation plan you can make some money selling the product at retail. Often the retail price is quite prohibitive so you end up selling at wholesale-customers like to feel they're getting a deal--and you earn the distributors override on your product sales. That override varies, but in my MLM company, its 10% to 20% depending how my business is structured.

Many people like to start by setting up a network of preferred retail customers, often around the world, who can order and pay for their own products online. A series of emails keeps you in touch and many of these customers find customers of their own so they enroll as a distributor. And so your business grows and your income grows via your 10% to 20% override on sales.
It's a very efficient process, but by some this is considered the slow way to start. But on the plus side the income is typically all residual so it's a rock solid business.

Others, and possibly this is the majority, like to make the override on the bigger sale of the starter packages, so they begin with a program of recruitment and teach their new associates to do the same.
Getting customers is often an overlooked segment of MLM, where many associates focus on recruitment and personal consumption only.
In my opinion if you want a rock solid business then you want to do both; teach your team to make sure their monthly qualifying volume is more than covered by retail sales. That way they're always making some money and they don't fall away. Besides, getting customers is a lot easier than finding a willing candidate for sponsoring.

In a business built like this you truly can retire on your residual income!

3 Tips For Selecting The Right MLM The Right Way

Someone once said that “you can’t start out wrong and end up right”. It is very easy to select your network marketing or mlm business opportunity using the “emotional hype” provided by the mlm company instead of a logical method and end up “crashing and burning” and quitting that network opportunity. Not only has your pocket book took a substantial hit but your self esteem has also “tanked”.

Here are 3 tips you can use to select your mlm business the right way by looking at the mlm product demand, the mlm product profit margin and the mlm compensation plan.

MLM Product Demand:
A legitimate mlm opportunity has a product or service that it markets for revenue. When selecting your on line business opportunity, make sure there is a demand for the product of service that the company is offering. Has your market heard about the product? Does the product have some “name recognition”? If you have to introduce a product that no one has heard about, do you have the “advertising budget” to introduce the products. It is a good idea for your “deal”to have more than one product so it can be bundled with other products of the company. Ask yourself is there competitive products from other mlm companies? If the answer is yes, then that indicates that there is a demand for that service or product. Make sure to review the demand for the product.

MLM Product Profit Margin:
You are in the network marketing business to make a profit. You must go beyond the hype and look at what is your profit margin. This includes the cost of acquiring a customer. When you first start out with your list of “100 friends and family” that many mlm companies tell you to put together, how much time, effort and money will it cost. If the retail cost of the product is $50 and you make $5 on each sale but it costs you $10 to acquire the customer, you are starting out losing $5. The bottom line is that you join a network marketing business to make money. You should try and find a mlm company in which you can make 50% of the retail price as profit. This will keep you from losing money. The lowest percentage you can stand should be set at 25%. I have a friend who made $30,000 in a network marketing company but it also cost him $30,000 which means after 4 years of blood, sweat and tears, he broke even. Be sure to check out your product profit margin.

MLM Compensation Plan:
Most network marketing companies have compensation plans that are explained in great detail and from the “hype”, everyone has an equal opportunity to have some degree of success in their plan. Many plans are the “forced matrix” or binary which seem to be the most popular. What you want to know about the plan is whether it is a product driven or recruit driven plan. Does the mlm company’s compensation reward selling product more or recruiting more? Does their landing page push the product or the deal? By answering that question, you will be able know if you fit their deal. If their deal dosn't fit, move on.

How To Succeed In Network Marketing-The 4 Must Requirements

How to succeed in network marketing; is there really a standard answer to this question?
You'll get plenty of theories, mostly olde world MLM theories which are becoming more and more ineffective as we burrow further and further into the age of the internet. Maybe the question should be:
How To Succeed In Network Marketing In 2007?
So is there a difference between succeeding in MLM today than there was 10 or more years ago? Does the fact that the majority of people joining a network marketing business bail out in the first 90 days answer your question?
It's a new era; the world wide web has made the world a smaller place and yes, newer, better strategies are now available to MLM'ers. Here are the four base principles of how to succeed in network marketing:

1. Target marketing... what do I mean by this. Well, basically you need to attract prospects to your business who will hunt you down rather than dumping yourself on friends, relatives or any one else who is fair game.
Can this be possible? Sure. By working a system by using carefully crafted tools of attracting prospects on the front end, allowing you to then develop a relationship with those prospects over a period of time. The beauty of this is, you will be dealing with people who actually sought you out.

2. Ensuring a continual and consistent flow of prospects into your business funnel. Without prospects, you don't have an MLM business. This leads us to the next component of how to succeed in network marketing...

3. Action. Lack of action is one thing but lack of effective action will hurt your business like nothing else. It's one thing to look busy such as attending meetings, conference calls and reading up on as much material as you can but is this income producing action?
Effective action includes doing those things to create an awareness in people you have the solution they're looking for. Website maintenance, blog maintenance, article marketing; using effective tools to firstly attract people to you and then to develop the type of relationship with these people required to build the foundation which will sustain your MLM business over time.

4. Developing the proper skill set is so important today in network marketing. Without proper skills, you may as well kiss any chance of converting your prospects into business partners.
I'm not talking about using old and outdated methods but how to succeed in network marketing today really boils down to how effectively you can position yourself in the MLM business so targeted prospects will be attracted to you.
Breakthrough new ebook reveals why MLM prospecting and recruiting is actually destroying your business. Find out how you can get people to pay you to prospect them.

Survival In Network Marketing-What Is The Staying Power You Need?

You and countless others know the survival rate in network marketing is pretty dismal. Most people initially get excited about an opportunity, join, and then reality strikes! All of the hard work seems to go nowhere, everybody says no, family and friends are all convinced the business opportunity is a scam and pyramid scheme, etc. Is it any wonder that people quit? However, there is one simple thing that you can do to help yourself through those downtimes and prevent your from ending up in the ranks of the quitters. Let's discover what the one thing is. It's easy to do, but few people take the time to do it!
You must take some time and create a powerful “why”. This is the staying power that is the true secret to survival in network marketing. Most of us, including you, have problems and situations that need to be solved. If you truly want your life to be changed and problems solved for the good, you have to figure out why you want to be in network marketing. This “why” will sustain you through criticism, negativity, lack of support from others, being told “no”, etc. Before you even choose a network marketing business, opportunity, you really have to come up with a powerful “why” with staying power.
You might be thinking how to come up with a “why” that has this mystical staying power. Keep in mind that your why isn’t all about the money. It has to be much deeper than that. Usually, it is something you want or want to get away from. Here are some questions that can get those creative thinking juices flowing:
*What gets you really excited?
*How many hours a week do you want to work?
*What do you love and hate about your job?
*Other than money, what are you looking for?
*If you had the time to do anything you wanted, what would it be?
*What problem scares you to death that money can solve?
*What does your family mean to you?
*What do you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
*What would it mean to help others and change lives?
*What would you really like to give the people who love you the most?
*What do you want for your own personal growth?
Pretty thought provoking questions aren’t they? I encourage you to spend some quiet time creating your “why” that has great staying power. Then, write down the three biggest reasons you have to be successful. Keep doing this until you finally have an “a-ha” moment and realize this is “why” you choose to become involved in network marketing. This is the “why” you can survive in this business when other’s drop out like flies.
Network marketing can be challenging. Everyone has periods of discouragement and thoughts of quitting at times. However, if you take the time to create a powerful why that has “staying power”, you can survive in network marketing.

What Every Network Marketer Must Know About The Future of MLM

Think back to when you were a kid...

If you're like me, someone who grew up in the 70's and 80's, you remember a time when TVs only had about 3 channels. And, you had to get off the couch to change those channels. The TV show Star Trek was incredibly popular and every kid was fascinated with all the high-tech gadgets like Captain Kirk's hand-held "communicator". Very cool stuff indeed.
Now jump forward 30 years. Without question, times and technology have changed. Today's electronic devices have long surpassed even the most creative imaginations of Star Trek's brilliant writers. Yes it's true, and they will continue to do so at an exponential rate.
Today a "personal data assistant", like the Blackberry or iphone, is quickly rendering the once popular cell phone obsolete. One of these fancy gadgets can play video or audio files, snap photos, send and receive email, and even surf the web – all from the palm of your hand.
However, here's something you may not have realized:

Today's young people have advanced right alongside technology.
This is something I know all too well. I see it everyday firsthand in my 3 young daughters. Without effort they can find any information they want in a matter of seconds online. For them, music and videos by their favorite artists are always just a few clicks away. Simultaneously sending text message broadcasts to their friends is second nature. Even a vote for their American Idol favorite is right at their fingertips.
And here's the kicker. My oldest daughter is only 12 years old.
Young people today are smarter than ever. In fact, most of today's teenagers have never known a time without computers or the internet. For many of them, a computer is as commonplace as a TV or microwave. To not have one is strange.
So what does all of this high-tech talk have to do with MLM?
Well, here's an interesting fact for you. At my MLM company's last national convention, the top 2 income earners started in the 90's. BUT, the fastest movers which started much later (and will very soon be the new top income earners) are all doing business online. Think about that and let it soak in for a moment.

To help you understand how this happens, consider this. Network marketers who started during the 80's and 90's were taught to drive all over town to do 1, 2, or 3 live one-on-one presentations per day, call 50-100 leads per day to do 5-10 phone presentations and attend 1 or 2 hotel meetings per week.
On the contrary, experienced online Network Marketers have proprietary "marketing systems" in place to do 25-50 or more presentations per day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – on autopilot. They have created a true home-based business model.
For them, gone are the days of wasting time, money, and energy (not to mention gas) chasing prospects and "overcoming objections". Because their systems do the work for them, they can truly experience time and money freedom that is so often promised in this industry yet seldom achieved. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

It appears the MLM industry is finally starting to embrace technology. Until now, company replicated websites and a few cheesy autoresponders were the extent of it. However, as more and more computer- literate distributors join the ranks, organizations will continue to grow faster and faster.
Perhaps you haven't realized it yet, but today's brilliant young people are the future of MLM and the home-based business industry. What's more, these sharp minds are either going to be fellow team members or the competition.
You will either have the pleasure of leading them or the agony of competing against them.
Now imagine for a moment it's 3-5 years in the future. You haven't done your homework and you're trying to tell an internet savvy prospect the way to build a business is by using the 3 Foot Rule, posting flyers on grocery store bulletin boards, running ads in the "Thrifty Nickel", dropping sizzle cards in parking lots and wearing silly buttons.
What are you going to say when they respond with, "Why would I do that when I can advertise to millions of people online?" I hope you have an answer.

Now take a look at the better alternative. Let's say that you took the time and made the effort to educate yourself and develop skills that are up-to-date. (You do want to be successful don't you?) Imagine what it would be like if you could tell a prospect:
That you can show them how to generate endless free leads for both custormers and distributors. (No, I'm not talking about "free classifieds")
That you can show them how to generate income online immediately so that their advertising never comes out of their own pocket. And...
Because of the knowledge and skills they'll acquire by working with you, they will attract other sharp people and have prospects chasing them instead of the other way around.
NOW what kind of response do you think you'll get from an internet savvy prospect? See the difference?

So ask yourself this question, "What will you do to move your business into the future?" Will you learn the skills necessary to lead your team into the internet age or will you keep doing the same old tired antics passed down through the ages?
Yes the future is tomorrow, but tomorrow's success depends upon what you do today.
Technology and the internet can be the most powerful tools at a Network Marketers disposal. Take the time to learn how to put them to work for you. Trust me, your competition will.
And finally, keep in mind the future of MLM is brighter than ever. With big names in the financial arenas like Trump, Buffet, and Kiyosaki raving about the strength and legitimacy of Network Marketing, things are just going to get better and better. Educate yourself today to make sure you’re in business, tomorrow.
